For the very beginner to intermediate student, you will learn the basics of piano and music theory. Each lesson will build on the next to develop effective and easy to implement practice skills, learn how to sight read music, and develop a strong sense of rhythm. Lessons can be tailored to what you wish to accomplish in learning piano whether it's having the ability to play the classics, read pop chart chords, or even write your own music.
All levels of vocal ability are welcome! I can tailor these lessons to fit you. Whether you want to learn to sing for fun or have a music audition in your future; I can help you reach your goals. Students will learn how to use proper breath support, correct posture, and learn how to release body tension allowing you to sing without strain or vocal fatigue. Voice lessons will build your vocal range and flexibility. I will also share tips on performance and how to overcome stage fright.
Ever wondered how music actually works? What makes up a melody, harmony, and rhythm of different pieces? Music theory is the study of the practices and possibilities of music. It examines the elements that construct a piece of music, including rhythm, notation, key signatures, time signatures, melodic intervals, scales, and chord progressions. Benefits of learning music theory include mastering pieces faster due to a clearer understanding of how it is constructed, faster sight-reading skills, the ability to construct and write your own music, greater improvisation skills, and a deeper appreciation of music as you listen. I offer one-on-one music theory lessons and tutoring for those who are taking college level courses and need help with anything from ear training to form and analysis. As you can see these classes will benefit all musicians at any level.
